Two-Year-Olds Provision
In Highbury Quadrant’s 2-Year-Old Provision we work in accordance to the Early Years Foundation Stage of the national curriculum (EYFS) in order to ensure all the children are reaching required milestones needed for Nursery.
Most of our play and learning experiences are delivered through our half termly themes and also build up on children’s interests, ideas and choices.
Our termly themes include:
- All about me
- Transport
- Things that grow
- Colour, Light, Shape and Sound
For children aged 2-3 we focus on the three prime areas for learning as they lay down the foundations for play, learning and development.
The three prime areas for learning are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language Development
- Physical Development
We also support children in the four specific areas, which builds on learning and development gained from the three prime areas.
The four specific areas are:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
