Outdoor Classroom Day

Highbury Quadrant’s first ever Outdoor Classroom Day was a huge success. We joined in with nearly a million children worldwide! Children in all year groups enjoyed a range of outdoor learning activities. Including: pond dipping in Year 2, heart rate experiments in Year 6 and collaborative maths challenges in Years 3 and 4.  The children were able to choose a challenge from forty-five different maths problems placed around the playground.  “Best maths day ever,” said Renea from Fulfilment class.  Our school gardener Annie was on hand to plant tomatoes in the school garden with children.  It was an excellent opportunity for children to develop critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity.
